　　Ifthespeakerdoesnotdefinethetermandlistenersdonotknowwhattelemarkskiingis,theymightnotunderstandtherestofthepassage.Sometimeslistenerscanguessthemeaningthroughthecontextofthepassage,butsometimestheycannot.Hereisthedefinitionthisspeakergaveoftelemarkskiing:
