雅思口语part3: are most Chinese people talkative

大多数中国人都很能说吗

It is very difficult to make the generalization as there are 1.5 billion people in China. But judging from my own experience, I should say the females tend to be very talkative while the males do not. Women seem to have a gift of starting a dialogue. It is quite common to see that several women sitting around and enthusiastically talking with each other, even if they have never met before. By contrast, Chinese men are often silent. If two men are not familiar with each other, they may not even say a word. This is partly because of the Chinese culture, according to which men are supposed to be solemn. If they talk too much, it would damage their prudent profile and go against the education they have received.

这很难进行概括，因为在中国有15亿人口。但从我自己的经验来看，我大概可以认为女性一般都很能说，而男性则不是这样的。女性似乎拥有开启一段对话的天赋。我们很容易看到几名女性坐在一起，热情的互相讨论着，即使他们从前根本没有见过。相比之下，中国男性一般很沉默。如果两名男子互相之间不太熟悉，他们甚至可能一句话都不说。这部分是因为中国文化。按照它而言，男性应该很庄重。如果他们说的太多，就会破坏自己审慎的形象，并且违背他们接受的教育。
