　　听力测试单词是在听力理解的每个主题中重叠使用的最重要的原始单词和问题。当然，这里的重叠包括原始单词再现、同义替换、反义词反驳等现象；根据表达内容，也可解释为原始单词再现、句型再现、抽象概念具体表达和推断表达再现等。在听力过程中，如果学生能识别和记录原始测试单词的表达意义，他们可以很容易地在列表中找到明确的答案，相反，主题的回答不能完成。

　　托福听力考试点词抓取案例讲解

　　以下例子说明了听力考点词的重要性和强度，ETS发布的TOEFL Practice Online(TPO)在第23套练习中，可以看到，在Conversation 1中第5题的考点和TPO 4中Lecture 四、五题考点词设计一致，对比如下：

　　答案选项:Even artists do not agree on whether the government should support the arts.

　　原文:The arguments both for and against government funding of the arts are as many and as varied as the individual styles of the artists who hold them.

　　考点词: funding=support

　　TPO23Convsation 1Question5

　　答案选项:To assure the man that the event has the support of the French department.

　　原文:But the French Department is funding this, on the condition that we do all the legwork.

　　考点词: funding=support

　　fund一词的意思是“投资；资助”，同义表达是“投资；suppor(t支持；帮助)”。假设考生熟悉这个同义复述，那么这两个问题就可以很容易地得到答案。这个词也在托福中提到过。

　　再举一个例子：

　　Ok. Last time we finished going over some of

　　the fundamental concepts of nanotechnology, the multi-disciplinary science (of manipulating or controlling extremely small units of matter on the scale of molecules or even atoms).

　　在这句话中，我们应该知道的关键词是nanotechnology。但是大部分考生都知道后面尾词的某种技术含义，所以lecture用另一个相关词代替关键词的定义:the multi-displinary science。这是什么？我们知道of背后是对这一概念的分析：manipulating or controlling extremely small units of matter on the scale of molecules or even atoms (在原子或含量级上控制小单位物质)。

　　因此，我们可以从括号中知道这个nanotechnology是什么意思，从而避免因关键词不清而导致文章出错。另外要注意的是，or和and都表示两者意思相似，所以括号中的manipulating等于or背后的意思。
