Well, an occasion when I invited my friends to have dinner was actually on my 18th birthday.

一个我要求朋友吃饭的经历是在我十八岁的生日那天。

I remember that was a graduation season of my senior high school life. My family invited nearly all close relatives, friends and of course my classmates to have dinner on that day.

我记得那会儿是我上高中的毕业季。那天，我们家邀请了几乎所有很近的亲戚、朋友，当然还有我的同学过来吃饭。

Initially, we planned to cook for them at home. But, as the number of guests was getting larger, we felt it was a bit difficult to hold all of them in our small apartment, not to mention the heavy work of cooking. So, we chose a three-star restaurant, which was not that luxurious but very decent in our town, to treat them. You know, everybody was having a blast there.

起初，我们计划着在家里招待他们。但是，由于客人的数量越来越多，我们觉得在我们小公寓里不太能够装得下他们，更不用说做菜做饭的大量工作了。所以，我们选择了一家三星级餐馆来招待他们，酒店不是特别奢 侈，但是在我们小镇来看已经很体面了。每个人在那里都很享受。

Well, the reason why my parents and I invited them was that we wanted them to share the joyfulness of both my birthday and acceptance to an ideal university. You know, after that summer, I would officially become an adult who was able to study in college!

我认为我父母和我邀请他们来的原因是我们想让他们一起来分享我生日以及我被大学录取的喜悦。过了那个夏天，我就正式成为一名可以在大学读书的成年人了!

I felt truly grateful for my parents who helped me organize this big dinner, and also felt thankful that my friends could come to celebrate this dinner event.

我非常感激我的父母，他们帮助了我组织这场大型餐会，我也非常感谢我的朋友们能过来一起庆祝这次用餐活动。
